Shared Resources on the Community Platform
General Information, How Tos, & FAQs
What is the different between Classified and Shared Resources?
This is two different names for the same module of the site. Shared Resources was the original name but we have moved over 'Classifieds' with the module upgrade, especially with the integration of volunteer opportunities.
Who can post on the Share Resources page?
Any registered user can post to the Share Resources page. It is recommended that you post your organization in the Posting Title and description.
What type of items can be posted on the Shared Resources page?
Users can post Volunteer Opportunities and available goods, which are connected to United Way of Cape Fear's Get Connected page. Users are also able to post UNCW Projects/Resources which include faculty expertise, service learning, research and internship opportunities, directed independent studies and class projects.
What is the Faculty Expertise section for?
Faculty Expertise is designed for UNCW faculty to post their contact information and areas of expertise so that community members can more easily connect with UNCW professors. If you click the Faculty Expertise section, you will be able to search faculty by their areas of expertise, and connect with them in ways to benefit your organization
Why can't I post internship opportunities available in my organization?
UNCW already has a dedicated internship posting service SeaWork.
I just posted an item - why I don't see it on the Platform?
All Share Resources posts must be reviewed and approved by a Community Administrator, which usually happens within 2-3 business days. This is necessary to ensure that only real and quality postings are visible on the site.
How can I find my own posting to edit/delete it?
First make sure you are logged in, and then click on 'Share Resources' (or the site equivalent) on the main navigation bar. From this page, click on 'My Listings', which appears along the top of the main search box.
